Overview

The seminar will provide attendees a safe space to understand and explore the multi-faceted complexities of racial trauma and minority stress in addition to appropriate, culture welcoming options to build a sense of resiliency for those who may be suffering. Professionals of all identities working with marginalized populations and/or clients of color may benefit from understanding how to properly explore their clients’ feelings of shock, numbness, fear, safety concerns, emotionally exhaustion, and/or nervousness secondary to an evolving social justice climate. Practical frameworks to assess and lessen the burdens of racial trauma and minority stress will be presented.
