Overview

This session builds a benefits realization model that tracks a business case from approval through to measured outcome. Attendees learn to fix a credible baseline, track forecast against actual over time, use adoption indicators as leading signals, assign a named benefit owner who outlasts the project, and expose forecast erosion as it happens rather than in hindsight. The model is designed to be handed to an operational owner at project close.

An organization that never measures benefits cannot tell a good investment from a well-managed one, and will keep funding the second while believing it is funding the first. Forecast benefits erode quietly between approval and delivery - a little at each re-baselining - until the surviving business case bears no resemblance to the one that was approved.
